Direct Hire
A permanent placement where the client hires the candidate directly and pays the agency a one-time fee, typically 15–25% of first-year salary.
Also called: direct placement, direct hire staffing, direct hire fee
Direct hire (also called direct placement) is the opposite of temp staffing: the worker becomes the client's employee immediately, not the agency's. The agency's only ongoing obligation is usually a guarantee period — if the hire leaves within, say, 90 days, some or all of the fee is refunded or the agency re-fills the role free.
