It's a focused command layer that recognizes staffing specific questions and requests, and answers them using the exact same services and data that power the rest of FreshStaff, so every answer is something you could have found yourself, just faster.
Why staffing teams need it
Not every question a recruiter has fits neatly into a dashboard's pre-built filters. 'Who should I recommend for the forklift job at Meridian' or 'what's going on with Acme Corp' are natural things to want to ask, but most software makes you translate that into the right screen, the right filter, and the right click sequence yourself.
A conversational layer removes that translation step. You ask the question the way you'd ask a coworker, and get an answer scoped to your own company's data, right away.
How FreshStaff builds it
Copilot Conversations uses reliable keyword and pattern matching to figure out what a typed command means, recognizing patterns like 'who should I recommend for X', 'schedule a visit with Y', or 'what's the status of Z', and routes each one to the existing service that already answers that question elsewhere in FreshStaff. The same priority engine behind Copilot Priorities, the same worker matching logic behind job recommendations, the same client and job lookups used across the dashboard.
There's no separate AI model making judgment calls here. Every response is either a direct read from existing data or an action routed to an existing tool, so an answer is always traceable back to something FreshStaff already knows for certain, not a generated guess.
How It Works

Open Copilot Chat from the dashboard, or type a natural question into the Smart Command Bar (see Smart Command Bar) to jump straight there.

Type a question or request the way you'd say it out loud, no special syntax required.

Copilot matches it to the right existing service and returns a real answer, often with a direct link to the relevant record.

If the response suggests a follow-up action, click it to send that as the next command, no retyping required.
Why It Matters
A conversational entry point meets recruiters where they already think, instead of asking them to learn where a piece of information lives in the app's navigation.
Because responses are built from real data through existing services, Copilot Conversations never makes up an answer. It either knows, or says so.
