Applicant Tracking System (ATS)
Software that manages candidates and job orders through the hiring pipeline, from sourcing and screening to placement.
Also called: staffing ATS, recruiting ATS
For a staffing agency, an ATS is the system of record for every candidate, job order, and submission — who applied, who got sent to which client, and who got placed. Legacy ATS platforms built for corporate recruiting (one req, one hire) charge per logged-in seat, which gets expensive fast for an agency where half the team touches candidates.
