Blended (Weighted-Average) Rate
When a worker performs two jobs at different pay rates in a week, the FLSA regular rate used for overtime: total straight-time pay ÷ total hours.
Also called: weighted overtime, blended overtime rate, weighted average overtime
Federal wage law requires overtime to be paid at 1.5× the worker's "regular rate," and when someone works two different pay rates in the same week, that regular rate is the weighted average of both — not either rate on its own. Getting this wrong is a common wage-and-hour compliance gap for agencies staffing workers across multiple assignments.
